Nature of 4075 Photography Competition

ENTRIES CLOSE NOVEMBER 5th

The "Nature of 4075 Photography Competition"  is not a competition for the most photographically perfect images, instead we want images that showcase the natural beauty or the unique qualities of our amazing postcode. We welcome entries from all, including from under 18s.  Entries will be judged by a panel of community members, and results will be revealed on November 16th at the Sherwood Community Festival. Finalist entries will be printed and displayed on the day so make sure you RSVP and attend the festival to see the creativity of 4075! If you still have questions - we have included some handy Frequently Asked Questions below the entry form. Note: Entries close November 5th.

Prizes include:

  1. $400 cash (sponsored by Brisbane Framing: The Artists' Choice.)

  2. $200 printing voucher (sponsored by Brisbane Framing: The Artists' Choice)

  3. A hamper of goodies and some special prizes for the junior winner (Sponsored by Councillor Nicole Johnson)

The rules are simple:

  1. You must be the owner of any image you submit, and the image must have been taken in the 4075 postcode.

  2. Entries must be submitted by midnight November 5th.

  3. Each person can only submit one image.

  4. Entries will be assessed based on both the image, as well as your explanation as to how it captures the nature of 4075.

  5. You will retain copyright in the image, but you give us permission to use the image purely for the purposes of promoting the competition and showcasing the finalists. We will always acknowledge you as the owner of the image.

  • Do I need to be a professional photographer?
Absolutely not. Everyone (including professional photographers) is welcome to enter, however the main judging criteria will be how well the photo captures the "Nature of 4075" rather than whether it is technically perfect.
  • What format do I need to enter my image in?
We accept jpegs or png files. Please try and keep them as high a resolution as possible as we will be printing finalist images to display on the day.
  • Who owns the copyright in my entry?
You do! We respect all entrants ownership of their work. We just ask that you give us limited permission to use the images to showcase the competition and to print the finalists. All work will always be attributed back to you and only used to support the competition.
  • Who will be judging the competition?
The competition will be judged by a panel of community judges including Lou Bromley (Local Oxley legend, and admin of the Oxley 4075 page), a member of the committee and more!
  • Why do I need to include an explanation of my image?
We ask that you include a short text explanation of your image to help us understand how it represents the nature of 4075. It will also help attendees truly understand the story behind what you have captured!
